Food Allergy & Outside Food Policy
Purpose
At The Hair Club London, we want every client to feel safe and comfortable. Because food allergies can be serious, this policy explains how we manage food and drink in the salon.
Our approach
- We do our best to maintain a clean, considerate environment.
- However, we are a public salon space and cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Food in the salon
Please do not bring strong-smelling foods or foods that create crumbs/mess.
Where possible, we ask clients to avoid bringing common allergens into the salon, especially:
- Nuts/peanuts
- Sesame
- Shellfish
If you need to eat for medical reasons (for example, diabetes), please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Complimentary refreshments
We may offer complimentary drinks (and occasionally small treats).
- Ingredients can vary and we may not always have full allergen information.
- If you have an allergy or intolerance, please tell us before accepting any refreshments.
What we ask from clients
Tell us in advance (or on arrival) if you or anyone in your party has a food allergy or severe intolerance.
If your allergy is severe, we recommend:
- Bringing your own safe drink/snack
- Avoiding shared surfaces (for example, communal tables)
- Letting your stylist/reception know so we can take extra care
Cleaning and cross-contact
Our team cleans stations and shared areas regularly.
Even with careful cleaning, cross-contact can happen (for example via hands, surfaces, or shared spaces).
In case of a reaction
- If you feel unwell or think you’re having an allergic reaction, please tell a team member immediately.
- If symptoms are severe (breathing difficulty, swelling, dizziness), we will call 999.
- Clients are responsible for carrying any required medication (for example, antihistamines or an EpiPen).
Right to restrict food
To protect clients and staff, The Hair Club London may ask that certain foods are not consumed in the salon, or may request that food is put away if we believe it could create a risk.
